This piece is a simulacrum of Education of Cupid by Narcisse Virgile Diaz de la Peña in the permanent collection of the Art Institute of Chicago. Raising questions between originality, museum collections, and depictions of Venus and Cupid. As stated by the Tate in a summary of Jean Baudrillard, “the simulacrum takes precedence over the original, with the effect that the original is no longer relevant.'“
