A sculpture titled "Do You Like Me?". That is referencing childhood locations and references. A torn note of loose leaf paper asking the pivotal question, do you like me? With yes and no boxes.

A Childhood Note

MDF, Paint, & Graphite - 36 x 43 inches - 2023

A question of desire that is impotent due to its lack of answer, not a yes, nor a no. The possibility of a blossoming relationship, an absence of a “yes”, perhaps an ignoring “no”. Better yet, a moment of possibilities and potential before receiving an answer.

Due to its size, when looking down at the work the viewer experiences a shrunken-down effect to further bring forward childhood. Revealing how desire has had a grasp on us at all points in life including childhood.
