My Love Steroid (2022) is an object that stems from (what I perceive to be) my lack of understanding when it comes to love and wanting that to change. Forcing love into a physical object, forcing the philosophical and emotional to become literal in hopes of a quick fix. Questions that arise from the object such as “What are the effects?” are not answered by this object as the constriction and defining of love is not of interest, nor pertinent. Rather, the viewer is meant to project their own conceptions of love onto the object and consider those questions.

The name “Amaresone” is created from the latin word for love “Amare” and the medical suffix dictating a steroid “sone”.
